Newfren produces a complete range of clutches with regard to applications and materials. The catalogue has products for models ranging from the old 1946 Vespa 98 to the latest competition MXGP and Moto3, including single-disc dry clutches for BMW, from 1969 onward, and special clutch plates for Speedway. It is, between clutch plates and centrifugal clutches, one of the widest ranges on the market. Newfren use an extensive range of organic and sintered friction materials developed for specific applications. The metal plates are made of special steels which are treated to maximize performance.

PRO RACE LINE
The Pro Race clutches are the top of the range. They are the result of research in new technologies combined with new materials developed in collaboration with important teams in Superbike, Moto3 and MXGP. The friction material is mainly composed of cellulose, resins, carbon and other elements that guarantee an extremely high coefficient of friction and are less compressible. The particular design of “separate notches” improves the flow of oil, allowing the plates to operate more efficiently. The combination of this design with the new friction material increases the fatigue resistance and guarantees maximum performance stability, even in extreme use, thus making the Pro Race clutch a very high quality racing product.
The Performance clutches are also suitable for sports use. The range is designed for non-competitive high-performance use, but also for non-extreme sports use, and therefore designed to withstand high stresses, guaranteeing good performance. The friction material, used for the drive plates of wet clutches, is Paper Carbon.
The driven plates are made of special steel to guarantee maximum resistance and minimum deformability.
They are designed to replace the OE clutch, maintaining the same performance and durability. The OE-Standard clutch plate sets are made using top quality materials. They are exceedingly reliable products. The friction material of the plates is organic. The compound of the organic material is chosen in relation to the type and utilization of the motorcycle, thus optimizing performance, albeit within the manufacturer’s guidelines.
DRY CUTCH LINE
The range of single-disc dry clutches provides applications for BMW from the 1970s onward, as well as Moto Guzzi and three-wheeled Piaggio, with a high-performance replacement. The original K type, available for all applications, is a high-quality replacement. The more recent KW type incorporates a new friction material composed of a synthetic aramid fiber, of which the main characteristic is its exceptional mechanical resistance to tension and heat. In the event of overheating the material will not suffer glazing and will return to its original characteristics as soon as it cools down. Another important feature of the new type is that its friction material is efficient even if it comes into contact with ”oil”. These are “High Quality Spare Parts”, ”Made in Italy”.
Newfren line has been chosen by Ducati first equipment on Panigale V4R with STM clutch system and partner of Ducati Corse and SBK team, is nowadays the widest and most technologically advanced range on the aftermarket. The range includes organic and sintered plates for both wet and dry clutches. Both the sintered range and the organic range are high-performance products. Newfren clutch plates have also been chosen to supply production models.
UP-GRADED CLUTCH KITS
We have up-graded clutch kits for certain models. These modified kits, designed by Newfren, increase the capacity of the clutch. They consist of a set of friction and plains, with more plates than the original clutch, although the clutch pack still has the same height as the OEM clutch.As a result of this, no further modification is required to the clutch assembly. They come complete with up-graded springs.
Sets of up-graded clutch springs are available for most of the clutches in the catalogue. Where automatic scooter and moped clutches are concerned, the spring pack contains four sets with different rates, which can be identified by their different colours, according to the gauge of the wire.
