Newfren brake discs are produced with AISI 420 heat-treated steel. The discs are either molded or laser-cut depending on the type of disc and the production requirements. We pay a lot of attention to the surface finish of the product. The minimal tolerance given to the parallelism of the rotor assures the perfect rotation of the wheel, avoiding annoying vibrations. Braking will be responsive and progressive.
Optimum performance is attained by pairing the disc with Newfren brake pads which are available in organic and sintered compounds.
The production process: Laser-cut or molded -> vacuum heat-treatment -> protective painting -> polishing

FIXED BRAKE DISCS
The fixed disc is interchangeable with the OE disc. The range includes front and rear discs for scooter, road and off-road for which there is also a solid rotor version. The discs are molded or laser-cut in AISI 420 steel, heat-treated and then polished to Newfren’s highest quality standards. Finally, a protective coating, except on the friction surface, guarantees that the slots and other parts remain intact over time.

FLOATING BRAKE DISCS
The floating discs are so called because the rotor is separated from the central hub(spider). Newfren “made in Turin” floating discs have unique characteristics, one of which is the choice of a round profile considered to be highly performing. The EF spider is machined from solid Ergal 7075 T6, while the AF spider is laser-cut AISI 420 steel. The bobbins that join the rotor to the spider are machined from solid Ergal 7075 T6 hardened with 50µ hard oxidation. The rotors are made of AISI 420 steel, heat-treated using a vacuum technique and then polished with a finish that guarantees Newfren’s maximum quality standards. A protective coating, except on the friction surface, ensures that the slots and other parts remain intact over time.

OVERSIZE FLOATING BRAKE DISCS AND BRACKETS
“Made in Turin” floating brake discs for off-road are also available in oversize diameters of 260-270 mm. Rotor and spider are in laser-cut AISI 420 heat-treated steel. The bobbins that join the rotor and the spider are machined from solid Ergal 7075 T6 hardened with 50µ hard oxidation.
ERGAL 7075 T6 CALIPER BRACKETS
In order to fit oversized discs, Newfren produces anodized caliper brackets machined from solid Ergal 7075 T6.

VINTAGE BRAKE DISCS
This Newfren designed disc guarantees excellent performance, especially when combined with Newfren pads. The characteristic of the Vintage floating disc is the circular drilling of the rotor that is separated from the spider so it can “move” freely on the bobbins machined from solid Ergal 7075 T6 and anodized with 50µ hard oxidation. This system significantly reduces the stress on the disc thus reducing wear. The separation of the rotor from the spider improves heat dissipation leaving the rotor free to deform. The spider AISI 420 steel or in Ergal 7075 T6 is either laser-cut and CNC machined or machined from billet. The rear disc is fixed and characterized by circular drilling of the rotor made from heat-treated AISI 420 steel.

OE-DESIGN BRAKE DISCS
Newfren brake discs are made from AISI 420 heat-treated steel. The look of the OE-Design line comes from the desire to fulfil the request of customers who want to maintain the aesthetic shape of the OE product. The discs are laser-cut, heat-treated and polished with a finish that guarantees Newfren’s maximum quality standards.
A protective coating, except on the friction surface, ensures that the slots and other parts remain intact over time. These OE discs are entirely designed and produced in Turin with the same precision that Newfren dedicates to its high-level products.
